In their announcement of Jillian’s placement SEED stated, “We believe SEED has found in Ms. Juman, a leader and partner who will help build community and momentum for SEED LA through the lens of equity and inclusion.”
Jillian will bring over 20 years of experience in education to SEED. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to providing under-resourced communities with access to quality education and ensuring educational equity. With a proven track record of raising student achievement, Jillian has successfully led school networks in the development of strong academic learning practices, leadership development and building sustainable communities of learning that are inclusive and innovative.
Jillian started her education career as a teacher and has held various education leadership roles both in Los Angeles and New York City, including as a managing instructional superintendent and principal. She holds two B.A.s from the University of California, Santa Cruz, a M.A. from New York University and a M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Bank Street College.
In her new role, Jillian will implement the SEED Model, bringing a full suite of academic, social, emotional, physical and mental health services customized to meet each student’s needs.
