Dr. Jennifer Pellegrine
Executive Director, San Carlos Charter Learning Center
San Carlos Charter Learning Center (SCC) is the oldest charter school in California. The school was created by educators and parents, opening with 85 learners in 1993. There are around 350 learners enrolled today across grades K-8. SCC’s mission is to be a collaborative public K-8 charter school community that educates, nurtures, and inspires learners to be independent thinkers as well as socially and personally responsible citizens.
In this role, Dr. Jennifer Pellegrine will support the school as it moves forward into its next chapter. Jennifer joins SCC with over a decade of leadership experience in public schools, central office, higher education and nonprofits. Further, she has a teaching background in mathematics in New York and New Jersey public schools. Also, she served as a principal for seven years. She came to California three years ago to serve as the Program Director at New Leaders. New Leaders is a highly acclaimed charter organization in Oakland. Additionally, she served as the Senior Director of Elementary Learning at Making Waves Academy here in the Bay Area.
Jennifer will join the SCC community as a strong instructional leader focused on building stakeholder relationships and trust, and driving innovation. She is passionate and successful in building leadership in educators, staff, and leaners. She believes that when we “work together to solve problems and achieve audacious goals, we transform ourselves and our organization, improving results and creating lasting impact.” Most importantly, Jennifer values the voice of all stakeholders, especially learners.
