Lisa Sherman-Colt has dedicated the past three decades of her professional career to her three passions: education, youth, and social justice.  Her work as an administrator and artist earned her numerous distinguished accolades recognizing her leadership in education. In this role, Lisa will lead OSA into its next chapter. Her responsibilities will include leadership and accountability for the success and quality of all educational programs; management of personnel; oversight of financial planning; management of communications; maintenance of relationships with OUSD and oversight of OSA’s operations.

Previously, Lisa was an Administrator of Curriculum and Instruction for the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Additionally, she served as a school leader at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) for more than a decade. Reflecting on her appointment, Lisa said:

“I am honored and excited to accept the Executive Director position at Oakland School for the Arts. This is a special community who values arts education.”
